A car powered by natural gas topped an annual
list of "greenest" 2007 model vehicles released Tuesday, while
Volkswagen's diesel version of its Touareg SUV topped the "meanest"
list for least environmentally friendly vehicles.

Honda's
Civic GX, a $25,000 natural gas vehicle sold in California and New
York, stood atop the "greenest" list, beating all gasoline-electric
hybrids based on a "green score" derived from fuel economy as well as
health and global warming impacts.

Natural
gas is a much cleaner burning fuel than gasoline, but it is also much
harder to find for refueling. As a result, Honda is also selling a
refueling pump for homes with a natural gas connection........

Cadillac CTS Coupe

GM is doing great again. My mother has serious problems with her legs and ankles and REQUIRES cruise control to sustain driving long distances. They told the dealer they wanted a safe car as well for my son who has already been through many operations including open and closed heart surgery. Upon bringing the car home they discovered it did not have cruise control, or ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) which is standard in most vehicles now. I returned to the dealership to speak to the dealer that sold them the car. It turns out he left under unusual circumstances. A representative was supposed to provide me with information but instead I sat their for at least 20 minutes. He came back and replied, I'm sorry. I thought my GM was coming to talk to you. They said there was nothing they could do. They are sorry, its not their fault, etc... We then began hearing a clicking sound. We live 2 hours away from this dealership. The first time we brought it there, they said it was nothing. We kept hearing it. We took it up there again, still nothing. We had to get the oil changed the clicking was still there, asked them about it again. They told us the master mechanic took and put a new wheel cover on it, that's what was causing the clicking. We left, the clicking was still there. I called them, upset of course, The women on the phone replied well our master mechanic drove it and didn't hear anything... so they really didn't put a wheel cover on? I spoke to the GM, he said he was unhappy about that, and this time he road with my fiancee. The clip that went between the axle and the wheel bearing was about to come off, the clip that held the tire on. They fixed it and again said sorry, it was a manufactures defect. Now, they tell me I'm stuck in a 19,000 dollar unsafe vehicle without ABS or cruise control, and I have to ride my 3 year old son around in this car regularly on 2 hour trips for doctor visits. This has been going on for over a month. I've asked to speak to the owner several times, the GM tells me that is not going to happen. I've never had any problems talking to an owner in the past for any business. This is not good practice.

is why Americans settled on gasoline as their fuel of choice a century
ago. For all the knocks on it, gasoline has a variety of advantages: it
packs a lot of energy for its volume and weight, it's transportable,
and it is available at a price that makes it accessible to the masses.
In addition, the entire gasoline-based infrastructure works, from
getting oil out of the ground to making gasoline available at a
convenient pump very near when you are right now. There currently is no
better alternative.

Motorcycles & Scooters

I'm currently researching the idea of purchasing a scooter. Then my manhood came in to question, so now I am looking into a motorcycle as well. Taking the DMV test soon to add a M1 to my Class C license.

I don't live that far from work so it would be ideal for me.

At the local motorcycle dealers, they are all sold out of scooters and people are back ordering them. In the next few months, you'll see alot more scooters and motorcycles driving on the roads.

Also, I'd be a little worried about finding the the new clean diesel as my E light flashes. Is this gas becoming more available?

Volkswagen Jetta TDI

I was searching for the award winning Volkswagen Jetta TDI in your Green Sedan category, but it is not even on the list. Cant you just provide a link at the article?

Poll: Volt (and other "series hybrid") - is it electric.

Chevy Volt is an awesome car. I've never seen in live but I'm very excited by the idea and hope it makes it to production.

Volt is all-electric drive, but it has gasoline generator to recharge the battery for the times when battery charge goes down. This makes it a "series hybrid".

Do you think Volt (and other series hybrids) is an Electric Car or just a Plug-in Hybrid.
