Let's hope GM survives long enough for us to see the plug-in

I agree - losing GM would be like losing a part of our fantastic country...

Some of us are on the right track. Plug in Great, Solar panels to charge, Fantastic. Both, I don't think so! Solar power is something the government can't regulate, tax, or keep raising the price on. The gov could make the big car makers research and build these types of auto's, but there isn't anything in for them. We could have been green a long time ago (with our automobiles) if everyone really meant it. We all just go thru the motions to look good. They say, it takes time. Bullony!!  I have given up on the wait and am building my own. Now that is the American way.

    thanks for listening

The VOLT. I mean come on, the volt is the biggest stepping stone in automotive history. The prius is a girly small car. Toyota can say what ever they want on how nice the new prius is going to be. But with the Volt, they are currently working to have it reach a 100mpg range. Right now you are talking an estimated 27mpg wtih it, but people think about it when you take in account you don't burn gas untill 40 miles, say you drive 80 miles you basicaly just got 54 mpg the whole time and thats with a V6. Sounds quite a bit better then the prius now doesnt it. Also the goverment will give you $7500 twards the puchase of the Volt.

Of course, there is a confusion here when we talked about whether choosing the plug-in or the volt. I've always been a fan of chevy cars, but this time I appreciate the plug-ins.

I guess the Volts will make it a sales hit in these times, isn't it? though some has been disappointed for its design.

Still excited for the Volt... though now that GM has released more recent data, you can see it's actually no greener than a regular prius in half the country.

One other huge problem that most people don't realize is that whenever a great new design for an efficient automobile gets patented, the oil companies buy up the patent and the design so that way it becomes illegal to produce it here.

The volt is great! even though the battery will only carry you 40 miles the combined mpg is said to be 230. But the  gas "generater" will be between 40 and 50 mpg. And it's a flex fuel generater meaning it will take a veriaty of fuels. Now like all new cars the price should decrease over time as the car is more refined. Also someone else said the government is giving 7500 for being an enviromental car. That amount will probably decrease as enviromental cars become more common. G.M. really wants this car to sell so the looks of the volt nocks the prius out. I'm loven the volt!
