    Hydrogen very exciting

Hydrogen technology is very exciting.  The ability to have zero emissions.  Has anyone done a conversion or own one?

I think of hydrogen as an energy storage, not a fuel. It is not occuring naturally in pure form. So one can say that energy used to produce Hydrogen is "stored" in it and then released (in a fuel cell).

But how to efficiently produce Hydrogen it large quantities - that is the question...

May be one day Electric car (like Volt) can get a range-extender upgrade from Gasoline engine to Hydrogen Fule cell. Or even Batery upgrade from Lithium to Hydrogen fuel cell.

Hydrogen is a distraction.  It is a storage form for energy, and not a particularly good one (takes up too much volume and needs to be highly pressurized).  To produce hydrogen in large quantities, one could run an electric current through water to produce hydrogen and oxygen gas.  If so, why not just store the electricity directly in a battery, which is safer, more convenient, and more energy dense (greater energy capacity).  Ultimately, hydrogen is still a form of internal combustion (you're still burning H2 to harvest the energy stored in the chemical bonds).  We need to move away from internal combustion, whether by embracing electricity or other alternative fuels.

Fuel cell does not use inernal combustion and does not burn hydrogen (in combustion sense).

Never going to happen, 200 Billion to create the Infrastructure needed to deliver hydrogen in the US, or maybe President Obama will increase taxes to cover it.

haven't tried yet i would like too.. well, i was also thinking of FCX as an option. this hydrogen car of honda promises a zero-emission & has been certified for daily use by both the Environmental Protection Agency and California Air Resources Board.
