I agree - losing GM would be like losing a part of our fantastic country...

Ah, math. Wonderful art form. But here's a reality check: A year ago gas was $3 per gallon, now it is $4 per gallon (or actually closer to $4.50 for most of us). I wouldn't bet on a $4 gas price for the next 18 years. Sorry. I wish I could.... but no.

Apart from making sure I get regular oil changes, having correct tire air pressure, replacing air filters, being less heavy on the pedal etc etc, what can I do to make my current car "greener"? Anyone has any good tips? (Not all of us can afford getting a hybrid right away:))

The Volt - hands down. Also, I just learned today the their V6 is expected to get 26 miles per gallon on the highway. That's about the same as a V6 Ford Mustang, but it is going to have the same horsepower output as a V8 Mustang! Plus, it is very cool...

I wouldn't write that off that quickly - You do get TWO miles more per gallon - not one, that is still a 7-9% increase. Plus, it is also a little friendlier on the environment

I just heard on the radio on the way to work today that a college student opened up a scooter store and was doing great... the scooter business is UP 25% since last year they said... and some scooters get more than 100 MPG!

That's interesting... so there is a MINUS to the really quiet cars... (perhaps not related to the Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid, but anyway!) Are they too quiet? Would it be better if they made some noise? Perhaps cars where the car's own noise is below a certain level should have some kind of artificial noise apparatus? Especially at lower speeds

So... there are Gasoline "Green" cars, Electric cars, Diesel cars, Ethanol cars, Hybrid cars, Natural Gas cars, Hydrogen cars, Solar powered cars... Which is the ultimate technology/energy that will be used in ALL our new vehicles 10 years from now? Which will be the winner? [Poll]
