Some research shows that there is a markup of up to $4k on used Prius with HOV stickers. That's high demand right there. But if the stickers were still available demand on new hybrids that can get a sticker would also be higher.

I personally think it should be considered an Electric car since it is driven by an electric motor only. It belongs with Tesla and RAV4 EV, not a prius where car is actually driven by the ICE. One can throw a portable gasoline generator in the back of Tesla Roadster and run it to charge the batteries. ;) This will not make Tesla a hybrid.

Chevy Volt is an awesome car. I've never seen in live but I'm very excited by the idea and hope it makes it to production. Volt is all-electric drive, but it has gasoline generator to recharge the battery for the times when battery charge goes down. This makes it a "series hybrid". hehehe, one day we will mine all electricity out and there will be none left... ;) We generate electricity. So it is not finite. The things we generate it from might be. But there are a lot of energy sources that are sustainable/renewable and infinite. Solar, Wind, Tidal, Geothermal to name just a few.
